PHOTOSAFARI- GREEN SEASON CALVING & PREDATOR | 9 DAYS

Photo Safari – Green Season, Calving & Predators | 9 Days

The green season is an exciting time to visit Serengeti, as it is when the wildebeest are most active. Visitors can witness the wildebeest giving birth, and watch as the young struggle to stand up and take their first steps. It is an awe-inspiring experience, as the herds are
so vast and the energy is electric. Aside from the wildebeest, there are plenty of other animals to see during the calving season.
Elephants, zebras, gazelles, and impalas are all around, as are the predators that stalk them. Lions, leopards, hyenas, and cheetahs are all on the prowl, looking for an easy meal. The predators often target the wildebeest calves, which are easier to catch than the adults.

Days 4,5,6 | Ndutu Area- Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Explore the range of different habitats that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes and the world-famous Serengeti short grass plains. See great herds of wildebeest and zebra. During a short time, frame around February, normally lasting for about 3 weeks, the majority of the wildebeest calve. The sea of grass provides little cover and the young are easy pickings for a variety of predators. Wildebeest calves can run minutes after they are born and within 3 days, they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd. Lake Ndutu is alkaline, like most of the other Rift lakes; however, the water is still drinkable and used by a wide array of local wildlife. We arrive in time for lunch at the camp, and after lunch we will do an afternoon game drive in the Ndutu area. The majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found on the short-grass plains from December to April. The area is usually heavily populated with elephant, birds and resident game, Woodlands Camp stands as a harmonious blend of opulence and Tanzania’s feral spirit. Beyond a mere stay, it offers an embrace of nature and refined comfort, situating guests amidst the heartbeats of the captivating wildebeest calving spectacle.
With the Serengeti as your canvas, experience a living tableau of fauna and sheer beauty. Perfectly positioned within the calving season, Woodlands Camp pledges unparalleled encounters where luxury seamlessly intertwines with nature’s raw embrace right from your doorstep.

Your guide will choose your route based on his extensive knowledge of the park and local conditions. Your trip might include a drive along the banks of the Grumeti River in search of basking lions, tracking cheetahs through the Gol Kopjes, or hunting leopard (with a camera, of course) along the Seronera River.
