Day 1 | Arrival in Dar es Salaam

Upon your arrival at Dar es Salaam Airport, our friendly and knowledgeable guide will be eagerly waiting to warmly welcome you. He will be readily available to assist you and ensure a smooth transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 | Fly to Mahale Mountains National Park

Air Tanzania fly from Dar es Salaam to Kigoma and transfer to Kigoma Hilltop Hotel. Dhow boat transfer (approx. 2 hour transfer by Dhouw boat ) to the lodge. Staff welcome and introductions followed by lunch.

Afternoon/early evening chimpanzee trekking or forest walks (if time allows). Evening sundowners, dinner, and overnight
at Mbali Mbali Mahale.

Day 3 | Mahale Mountains National Park

After breakfast, depart for morning chimpanzee trekking. Return to the lodge for hot lunch. Afternoon at leisure perhaps to kayak. Evening sundowners, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4 | Mahale Mountains National Park to Gombe Streams National Park

After breakfast, morning boat transfer to Mahale Airstrip. Shared Charter Flight from Mahale Airstrip to Kigoma Airport. Airport transfer from Kigoma Airport to Kigoma Hilltop Hotel. Dhow boat transfer (approx. 1.5 hours) to the lodge. Staff welcome and introductions followed by lunch. Afternoon/early evening chimpanzee trekking or forest walks (if time allows). Day 5 | Gombe Streams National Park

After breakfast, depart for morning chimpanzee trekking & Birding . Return to the lodge for hot lunch.

Afternoon at leisure perhaps to kayak. Book an optional Boat Safari. Evening sundowners, dinner and overnight at the lodge.Mbali Mbali Gombe.

The smallest of our lodges, this intimate lodge is perfect for a retreat by Lake Tanganyika. Encounter chimpanzee families studied by the renowned British researcher, Jane Goodall. We now have wifi access for guests in the lounge area.

Stay Includes: Accommodation, three daily meals (dinner, breakfast, lunch or packed lunch), three complimentary beverages per meal while dining on site (includes water, soft drinks and beers), water during Chimpanzee trek, 1 x Chimpanzee Trek per day, Kayaking, Laundry, Tourism Development Levy, and VAT.

Birding and Forest Walk

Proceed on a forest walk of Gombe Stream National Park. Learn about the Flora and Fauna on your trail from your expert guide.Water Activities and Cultural Tours

Once in Gombe, you can enjoy kayaking, boat safaris, swimming, and fishing excursions.

Boat Safaris in Gombe are 30 USD per person. Visit a neighboring fishing village, Mwamgongo, for a cultural tour. Stop at the village with our guide to understand fishing activities, palm oil extractions, embroidery, boat making, and visit the chief’s palace. Experience also the traditional Ha Dance. This village is 3km away from Mbali Mbali Gombe.

Fishing Excursions in Gombe are 85 USD per person for 2 hours.

This is your last day! Today you fly to Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar Es Salaam, from where you will catch your international flight home.
